“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” ~ Proverbs 27:17
Blessings don’t always come neatly gift wrapped. Some come in human form too. They bring warmth and cheer into our lives. They become like pillars on whom we can count on, especially when faced with a problem or crisis. One of the ways how God enhances our lives is through such people. We all need such people in our lives.
Having a mentor in life is an invaluable asset. A mentor is a person who mentors us, who guides us through life’s crossroads and ups and downs. Someone with whom we feel comfortable, so at home, free enough to share even the deep things, the personal matters. We can seek counsel, guidance, gather knowledge, and take advice which will help us while making decisions and choices. From their experience we can glean truths of life, pick up values and principles that will build our life, enabling us to be fruitful and prosperous. We are edified, encouraged and warned.
If you don’t have a mentor in your life, seek for one who is mature and well experienced than you such as friendly elders. If you have one, keep in touch and cherish their contribution to your life, staying open to being admonished and corrected, which works out for your good. Let’s face the fact that it’s no good to be a loner, doing things as we like according to our whims and fancies. We can save a lot of trouble by seeking advice from our mentors. Precaution is better than cure.
“Dear Jesus, I thank you that You bless me even through certain people who are a blessing to me. Help me cherish them and take help from them. Amen.”
