“Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well.” ~ Proverbs 5:15
Life is a web of relationships. Various relationships interweave into the fabric of our lives. Relationships have a lot of bearing upon us. They impact and influence our lives in myriad ways. We all look for relationships that are satisfying, long lasting and enriching. But seeking them in the wrong places and in the wrong ways is laying up trouble and sorrow for ourselves which will overtake us in the end.
Your spouse is God’s gift to you. Your relationship with your spouse is sacred and intimate. It needs to be guarded, protected and not misused or neglected. Flirting, getting into live-in-relationships, co-habitation, jumping from one partner to another, having affairs and parallel relationships will destroy this very special relationship. These may seem the-in-thing-to-do, so trendy, so convenient for the present. But the Bible warns us, ‘For a man’s ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths.’ Proverbs 5:21
Stay within your boundaries. Stay faithful to the person to whom you have given your word. If you are waiting for your life partner, wait in the right manner…. don’t indulge in trial and error methods that will make you feel degraded later.
“Dear Jesus, in You is found wisdom and understanding about the ways of life. Lord, thank you for teaching me the right way. Help me follow it always. Amen.”
Faithfulness to spouse or partner is commendable
