‘I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.’ Deuteronomy 30:19
Rumana was full of regrets for a decision she had made as a child. She remembers the time when she was throwing tantrums saying that she didn’t want to go to school. She was just 9 years old. The reason for her to say such a thing was because her friend Aarti’s parents had removed her from school and Rumana wanted to play with her. No matter what her parents told her she refused to hear it. Ten years later she wished that she could get back to that time and change her decision. She wished that she was educated because she knew that her future would have been better if she had continued studying then.
Every day we have a chance to start our life over again. The choices we make define our existence, our lives. Anything we do or choose not to do makes a difference in our lives. All decisions have impact on us, though for some decisions the impact is not visible or measurable. God gave us a life, He also gave us the blueprint to help us make the right choices but He left the choice to us.
Stop for a while and think what are you making of your life? Where do you want your life to go? Are you making the right decisions to get there? Have you chosen life over death, blessings over curses?
‘Dear Jesus, I have been very unmindful of the decisions that I have been making in my life, not knowing that they impact me so much. Help me Lord, to make the right decisions. Give me the wisdom, knowledge and understanding I need to choose life and be blessed. Help me to learn from you and to follow where you lead, Amen’
