Building one another
Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Romans 14:19
When two parties who are fighting are out to get to each other, they do their best to destroy each other, break their defenses and capitalize on the loot from the other side. As believers we are called by the Lord to work together for peace and work in a way that we build one another up. We need to make every effort to unify and strengthen the Body of Christ.
We have an enemy who lurks around us seeking a chance to destroy our peace and destabilize our relationships with each other and with God. We need to do all we can to break down the barriers and fill the rifts that the enemy has caused among us.
God is love. God’s plan of Salvation, the sacrifice of Jesus, His life and death on the cross was out of His love for every soul on earth. When we truly love Him above everything on earth, we too will rise above narrow divisions and look to the things that unite and edify everyone.
“Dear Jesus, help me to be a person who builds others in faith and love for You and each other. Help me to keep my eyes on you and do that which will bring peace to all around me. Amen.”
