Do not be terrified
“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts:
Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.” Isaiah 51:7,8
Have you seen a little child bullied by the bigger boys who take pride in their size and strength? While the child suffers and cries, they just go on tormenting him even more heartlessly. They threaten him not to tell anyone about the torture or else… The stricken child has no option but to suffer in silence.
How many times do we come across injustice in our lives? At every place, someone gets away with doing wrong and the suffering person has no place to place his grievance about it. When we go through it ourselves our hearts cry out and we wonder is there justice anywhere! Would someone do something to set things right? Is there any use of being good or in the right?
The great God says, ‘Do not fear men or be terrified by their insults. My righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.’ He says He will take those who do wrong and terrify the righteous to task. Nothing can stand up before His power on earth and in the heavens. Those who do evil and cause pain to the righteous would find a formidable enemy in the God of Justice.
“Dear Jesus, thank You for Your assurance that You will deal with those who wrong us. Help us to constantly walk in the right path always, Amen.”
