Delivered from a Curse

Delivered from a Curse

Delivered from a curse

Delivered from a curse

“When Balak son of Zippor, the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor to put a curse on you. But I would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you again and again, and I delivered you out of his hand.’ ~ Joshua 24:9,10

When God decides to bless someone, no one can curse them. Balak, the king of Moab tried his best to put the Israelites into disadvantage. He called Balaam to pronounce a curse on them. Balak tried it three times yet all that Balaam would speak would only be blessings. Balaam said, “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?” (verse 8)

When you strive to live a righteous life you will come against enemies who want to bring you down. No matter what they hold against you in their heart, say or do, when God is on your side, it will not amount to anything at all. Just as God turned around Balak’s intentions and made the curses he wanted become blessings through Balaam, He is perfectly able to handle every evil intention others have concerning you.

We worship a sovereign God who can see through everyone’s hearts and intentions. No one can convince Him to do something unjust or wrong. Nothing unjust or wrong can flourish under Him because He is a God of justice. He cannot be bought over just as Balak tried to win over Balaam with bribes. No one can prevail against Him.

If you are in the right, you can be sure, God will preserve, protect and bless you.

“Dear Jesus, help me to live a righteous life that is pleasing to You always. Thank You for turning the curses against me into blessings. I praise Your holy name, Amen.”
