Little and much

Little and much

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much”. Luke 16:10

If you walk into some people houses you will find that they are very good at taking care of their things. Many things we see in their house have a story of their own. They would be several years old and still look like they are just a few months old. These things are treasured and so are the memories that are linked with them. As the years go by their treasures increase and they grow from strength to strength because they value and respect things and people too and care for them.

On the flip side you can walk into some people’s houses which look like mansions, with huge rooms, all the gadgets and many servants to look after them and still find something or the other stashed away in an unusable condition. They don’t mind if something is wrong with those things, they simply dump them and buy another. They have the same attitude towards their friends, relatives and employees too. If there is a problem they simply ‘dump’ them. Sooner or later their loved ones learn about their true colors and leave their side because of the lack of respect and ill-treatment on their part.

God has given us a lot in our lives. What is our attitude towards them? Are we grateful to God for everything and do we take care of the things, the gifts and the blessings He has given us?

“Dear Heavenly Father, I am so sorry that I didn’t understand the value of the gifts that you have given me. Give me the wisdom to understand the importance of what you have given me and what are doing in my life. Help me to respect and care for the things you have given me, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
