When God Acts

When God Acts

“No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Isaiah 43:13 b

When we allow ourselves to compromise on the things that God tells us not to do we are in danger of crossing the line of no return. It is one thing for a little child to do wrong without knowing it and quite another for an adult person who does it knowing it is wrong. God pardons those who did wrong without knowing it and gives them a chance after  correcting them. However He is angered when a person who knows His Word does wrong inspite of knowing it.

In God’s mercy He gives the wrong-doer a chance or two. But when that person takes God’s mercy for granted and keeps doing wrong inspite of it, it is then that God draws the line. No longer will that person have the privileges reserved for God’s children. Soon he will find that God has withdrawn His special graces and protection and he will have to fend for himself without God’s help.

We who say that we believe in God, do we really believe in Him? If we really believe in Him, our thoughts, our words and our actions would reflect that. We would fear to fall into the hands of the Living God and therefore do no wrong. We would know that for every action, there is a recompense; for ‘what a man sows, he shall reap’. The fear of God would define everything we do and keep us apart from the world.

If we don’t listen to God’s warnings, we can be sure to find an adversary in Him. He means it when He says, “No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” Are you right with God in every area of your life? Is there any sin, anything you need to repent about, confess to God and change in your life? Time is short, do it soon. Right now is the best time.

“Dear Jesus, I am sorry for not keeping You first in my life. Help me to change the things that I need to so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You, Amen.”
