Going Beyond

Going Beyond

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.” John 14:12-13

Jesus opened the eyes of blind, healed the lepers and caused the lame to stand up and walk. He fed a crowd of five thousand with five loaves and two fish. He turned water into wine. He forgave people their sins and He knew what Pharisees were thinking secretly in their hearts. Jesus said if we can have faith in Him, we could do greater things than these. In Jesus name, we are to ask and see greater things fulfilled for us.

Stop for a while and rejoice over these verses. This is God’s promise for us. Stop talking about an old testimony of what God did in your life. God wants to give you new testimonies of abundance, health, growth, spiritual maturity, love and joy. Don’t stop at the old blessings but keep looking for newer blessings in your life.

Break away from the mindset that says this is all there is and I cannot see anything better. We don’t cause the blessings to come. We don’t earn it in anyway. We are blessed through faith and through the delight of God our Father. Break away from the mentality that is rooted in poverty. We are to look up and expect great things from our Lord.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, we limit your work in us through our lack of faith. Lord, please give us enough faith to expect great things from you and to look beyond our last blessing. In Jesus’ name, we ask this: Amen.
