Causing you to see

Causing you to see

“And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water…” ~ Genesis 21:19

She departed from her master’s house with a bottle of water and some bread, took her son and walked towards the wilderness. When the water was spent, she cast the child under one of the shrubs, went and sat a distance away so as to not look at her child dying. And she lifted up her voice and wept. She was so taken aback by her present problem, her present situation that she had not noticed the well nearby. But God heard the voice of the child crying and did something amazing. God opened her eyes, causing her to see the well of water.

Many a time we fret and even give up when things are not going right, the way we desire. It may seem dry, impossible and difficult. We can get so caught up with thinking about the present problem, that we can miss out on seeing what God can do or rather what He’s already done to help us through that situation. No situation is so bad that God cannot do something about it. God is powerful to do miracles. And He hears the cry of the oppressed and needy. Psalm 94:9 says, ‘He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?’ When we cry out to God in desperation, he hears our cry for help and being a merciful compassionate God, He steps in to help us.

He opens our eyes giving us a new revelation, a new understanding about the issue; He causes us to see His goodness, a new wonder, a solution, a way out, which was either previously hidden or unnoticed by us. And then we understand that all the while we’ve not looked outside of the problem. We allowed the problem to dominate our minds so much that we think there’s no way out. But thank God that He’s always there, opening our eyes, causing us to see His goodness, His provision, His help which never fails.

Prayer

“Dear Jesus, I thank You that no situation can lock me in because You are there to help me. You hear my cry and help me. Lord, help me see Your goodness. Amen”
