‘Samuel grew; the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.’ ~ 1 Samuel 3: 19-20
Samuel was dedicated to serve in the temple of God under the leadership of priest Eli. As a young boy, Samuel heard from God and he readily trusted and obeyed God. As he grew, the Lord was with Him. He put power and meaning in every word that Samuel spoke and none of his words went unfulfilled. When Israelites saw that everything that Samuel said proved to be true, they were convinced he was hearing it from God. And Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.
Is God with us in whatever we are pursuing or doing today? Is God with us in our daily decisions? If God is with us, in whatever endeavor we take up, He will put meaning and power in the words we speak and the work we do. He will not let our works go in waste. We cannot stand firm without the power and anointing of God.
Do you want to be established as a great minister, a great artist, a great writer, a great counselor, or a great parent – God is the one who establishes us. If we want God to be with us, like Samuel, let’s hear from God. Let’s have attentive ears and the soul to seek God first.
Dear Jesus, I want to hear your voice. Help me to seek you in my decision-making. Lord, I want your anointing and power in what I do. I don’t want to take up the road where I may not find your anointing. Bless me O Lord, Amen.
