Lost in Unbelief

“And he could there do no mighty work… And he marveled because of their unbelief.” Mark 6:5, 6

Jesus stood before them, God in the form of man. He had all power. He did so many miracles in various places yet when He came to His hometown they didn’t accept Him. ‘”Where did this man get these things?” they asked.’

They fell back on social norms to decide what a person can or cannot be, what he can do or not do. They had no idea that God doesn’t have to abide by social norms and customs, When God decides to do something He can use anything or anyone. He used a donkey to speak to Balaam. He used a small lad called David to bring down the great giant of the Philistines – Goliath.

Here was Jesus holding everything they needed in His hands, ever willing to do anything for them… and their unbelief stopped Him. They didn’t really know Jesus. We too can make the same mistake… We could simply mouth our belief in Him and not let it reach our heart or we can let go of pretenses and really believe in Him.

When we accept Jesus as our personal Saviour we need to understand and accept His stature as the Living God. Accept that nothing is impossible to Him. When faced with the most severe affliction we shouldn’t let that cause us to fall into unbelief. Our unbelief would be the greatest obstacle for the Lord to work the miracle we seek from Him. Let go of the unbelief and your hands are free to receive the promise from the Eternal God.

Dear Jesus, I am sorry that I let my finite mind come in the way of my belief in You. Help me to let go and receive your blessings and miracles so I can glorify You, Amen.”
