Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you” ~ 1 Samuel 10:7
Something supernatural happened in Saul’s life. While looking for his lost donkeys, he comes across the prophet Samuel who gives him a message from God and anoints him as the future king of Israel. Samuel goes on to tell Saul of the exact turn of events that are yet to happen in the future. He clearly explains the things to would happen, the people whom Saul would meet enroute to Gilgal, what would happen and how he is to respond and finally ends his message with the advice, ‘Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you.’ Samuel draws Saul’s attention to understand that the happenings to come were signs from God. He was conforming, attesting that his being chosen as king was real and was from God. God’s favor was with Saul but he too had a part to play. He had to perform appropriate actions to realize the blessings that were in store for him.
God has a plan for our lives. God shows His favor on us by making signs and wonders occur. He strengthens our faith and enables us recognize that He is the engineer behind it all. He also makes us see that we have our part to play in making these blessings come true in our lives. And for that to happen, we as partners with God, must do whatever appropriate action it takes to help realize them. So let’s ask ourselves, ‘What appropriate action must I do to help realize God’s will for my life?’ When we honestly ponder and resolve to act accordingly as revealed to us by God, when we are determined to do our part, we can be sure that we will not miss out on any blessing.
Let’s not be satisfied in just being aware of what God expects us to do or just watching God do His part in performing signs and wonders in our lives. Instead let’s do our part, so that when we give an account of our lives we can hear God say, ‘Well done my good and faithful servant!’.
“Dear Jesus, thank you for the plans you have designed specially for me. Lord, guide me to act accordingly so that I don’t miss out any blessings that are meant for me. I depend on you. Amen”
