Lay your request and wait

“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation”. Psalm 5:3

As the new days begins, we wake up with a lot of hopes and dreams. No matter what happened the previous day, the new day beckons us to move on and live in a better way.

What do you do first thing in the morning? Do you put on your favorite music and go about your day humming the song? Do you read the newspaper that is filled with negative and heart-rending news? Do you sit and chat over a cup of tea about a neighbor who is making your life miserable?

The psalmist would not do anything like that. He begins his day by speaking to the Lord. He knows his existence depends on the God who looks after him in various ways. He commits all his cares and concerns before the Lord. Not just that he knows that he can trust his God so he waits faithfully in expectation for what he has asked for to be fulfilled.

How would you like to begin your day? Imagine beginning it in such a way that it expands the potential and possibilities of the day making it purposeful and memorable… That is possible only with God. When you surrender your day to Him, He makes the best of it and you reap the benefits for a long time to come.

Find a quiet place and have a heart-to-heart conversation with God and bask in His presence. It is the best thing you will ever do.

Prayer:

“Dear Jesus, I need Your touch to be with me every morning and through out the day. Help me to seek You so that I will have a wonderful day, Amen.”
