Depends what class you are in too…we still have the caste system .Wife of little money are treated badly..but everyone is treated badly in the lower class. And as well in Upper class wife in India are treated respectfully as they become doctors, lawyers, professors, etc. Anyways Its a very difficult question to answer, My 1000 vote’s to Inferior Itself coz 69% as per my case study in Indian Literature.

Not Equal…but better than earlier times. In some contexts…that is more than husband.
