Matthew 6: 31-32 – ‘So do not worry saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ Or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them’.
Isn’t it amazing that we ‘know’ about God so much but when we are in dire straits, we get all worried and worked up thinking …’Does God know what I am going through?’ All through the Old Testament and the New Testament God has proved Himself over and over again as the ‘Jehovah Jireh’ – The God Who provides! One who lovingly anticipates and provides for His children’s every need. When our Heavenly Father did not spare His own Son, how will He not also give us all things? Why do we worry about the small itsy bitsy things when the BIG thing has already been given to us? The eternal life with God is ours and yet we are so caught with the mundane things of this world. What is our need this day? Let us commit it into the Lord’s hands that He – the Provider might prove Himself one more time.
Prayer
My Heavenly Father, I thank You that You know what I need even before I can mention it to You. Meet my needs this day in Jesus name.
Contentment isn’t getting what we want but being satisfied with what we have.
